The video clip I have attached below is the matrix lobby scene. We were shown this clip in class it Shows a range of different editing tricks and how they are used at different points to get different effects. For example at the begging when the man in the glasses walks in the pace of the editing is slow to match the amount of action which is currently taking place at that time. The pace of the cuts then speeds up as they start shooting this is also then it matches what is happening in that part. At the begging when the main character walks in its clear that the director and camera man have considered the rule of thirds and the characters feet are shown in the left hand side of the screen they then move to be more central towards the end of that cut. The rule of thirds is repeatedly used when they are using the collums in the room to defend their selves from the buckets. In addition they have used the 180 rule when they use the collums for protection. The editor had slown down the cuts when the main characters are doing stunts e.g. Kart wheels and walking along the wall I believe they did that to show off the characters, in contrast they keep the guards cuts at the pace they are originally in to make them appear inferior as they are the defeted party.
